New Driver!

Today was a pretty eventful day in our household. Courtney finally got her license! She could have got them on December 27th, but somehow we managed to lose the green sheet that she needed to prove that she completed the driving part of her driver's ed. So...she had to wait until school started back to get that form from her driver's ed teacher.
Here she is on the way to the drivers license office. This is when I realized that we still had the temporary insurance card in her car - which had expired. When I received the new one in the mail, I just laid it on my desk at home. And it is still there.
Luckily, Granny wanted to be there for Courtney's big moment. She picked Courtney up from school, and they met me at my office. My mom then followed us to the drivers license office. And she is organized and keeps her current insurance card in her car - not on her desk. So, Courtney took her driver's test in Granny's car.
Here she is taking her eye exam
and her thumb prints
I was really embarrassing her with my camera
getting ready to go do her parallel parking
And here she is with the office lady who rode with her for the driving test. They no longer have a trooper do it. We were living in Arkansas when Michael turned 16, and he had a trooper who gave his driving test. But he only had to do the driving test for the permit - not the license. It is the opposite here in Texas.
Granny patiently waiting to see if Courtney would pass her test
And she does! She made a 90 on her driving test, so she was all smiles.
Please let this post be your warning. If you see a white Jeep Grand Cherokee driving down the road, get out of the way!!!
