Happy Birthday Avery

There is a little curly headed girl who we are pretty fond of that turned two this month.  We decided to wait until Michael was home on spring break to have her a little party.  And of course Courtney got called in to work on the night I had it planned.

Miska Muska Avery Mouse!

Happy Birthday Avery!!!  We love you!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

For the last couple of years, our church has chose to have the Easter egg hunt for the kids on the Sunday before Easter.  With most of our youth traveling out of town on Easter weekend for Lads to Leaders, it is just easier for everyone to have it early.  Last Sunday we had planned on having the hunt at Joyce Frank's home but the weather wasn't very cooperative.  So we had it at the building instead where we could all stay nice and warm.  And the little ones had just as much fun :)

Courtney loves to hide them in hard to reach spots to make the little ones work for their treats
Avery didn't understand the concept at first.  She would get a few eggs in her basket and then dump them all out

Butler dumped his eggs out too...but on accident

Michael was here on spring break
It was so much fun watching the kids and seeing how excited they were!!  What a fun evening!

Ms Molly turns 95!

This past week Ms. Molly turned 95 years young.  We honored her at our monthly fellowship meal last night.  She is such a sweet and FUNNY lady.  Sharp as a tack! And she ALWAYS has a smile on her face.    She still lives alone and gets around really well for her age.  Charles read parts of Proverbs 31 last night which fits her perfectly!  She is a true inspiration to all!  Happy Birthday Ms. Molly!

Circus Fun

The circus was in town a couple of weeks ago.  I had not planned on going but my friend Vicky won free tickets for two adults and four kids.  So I called up my nephews, Seth and Hudson, to see if they wanted to go.  And they did!  We got there early so that the kids could enjoy the animals.

Hudson helped Avery with the pony ride
 Avery with her sister Madelin
 Feeding the goats and llamas
 Avery and her Memaw

The elephants were my favorite part even though I feel sorry for them.
No kids were harmed in the taking of this picture.  This picture was requested by Hudson.  I think he started getting cold feet the closer we got to the clown.  Creepy!

I am hoping for NO free tickets next year!  Two years in a row of going to the circus is plenty for me!  The kids had a great time though and that is all that mattered :)

Favorite Vacations

Today I am linking up with Kelly over Kelly's Korner.  Her "Show Us Your Life" topic today is favorite vacation spots.  So I thought I would share my all time favorite family vacation.  Several years ago, we went to Destin, FL and rented a house right on the beach for a week with my mom and my older brother and his family.  It was so much fun!! We vacationed for several years in a row together.  Then we all just kind of got busy and did our own little family vacations.  I am so ready to go back to Destin with everyone.  I think this summer would be a perfect summer for that!!

My kids were babies...

My favorite vacation that just Rod and I have taken (and pretty much the only one) was when we went to Rome, Italy with a group from his work.  Most of this trip was paid for by his employer, so that made it even nicer!!  We stayed in Rome most of the time, but did take a side trip to Florence for a day.

Be sure and visit Kelly's Korner www.kellyskornerblog.com to view many more favorite vacation spots!
