August Miscellany

I have done a horrible job blogging lately.  I am going to try and start doing better since this is my "scrapbook."

The month of August seemed to fly by.  And we really didn't do much, but I did seem to take a lot of pictures as always.

Rod finished putting in my walkway and built a flower bed in the backyard.  Next phase = deck!

I had fun playing with Avery's hair one night after she had been over her Granny's.  Whatever she puts in her hair makes it so easy to comb through when I take down the braids.  I was trying to see how big I could make it.
Child labor
Flying high
Tinkerbell came to Paris Baby for story time so we had to dress up to go see her.

The broken wing fairy was hungry after story time so a quick stop by Taco Delite fixed that problem.
We stopped by the park in Reno one night on our way home from church.
My co-worker Cissy turned 60!  We showed her some love :)
Turns out stopping by the park on the way home from church started something,...now my curly headed friend wants to do it every time.

We squeezed in one more Ranger game before Michael had to leave us.
My brother, sil and nephews came over for lunch one day
Sweetness!
And the day I had been dreading all summer came :(
Michael left for his senior year of college!  In his new (to him) truck!

Another day at the park.  This time it was a Dairy Queen picnic.
Sunday afternoons with a house full of kids are the best!

Dallas Trip

I was able to stay home for a couple of days after our trip to Belize, before I headed to Dallas for some software training.  I took a couple extra girls with me on this trip.

And this is how I left them every morning while I went to class...
They hung around the hotel and swam while I was in class.  Each afternoon when I got out of training we would go eat and find something to do, which mostly consisted of shopping.  We were only a few miles from Grapevine Mills Mall.

One night we went to Main Event and bowled and played arcade games.
Courtney wanted to find a Buckle one night.  Grapevine Mills mall does not have one.  So we located the closest one on the GPS.  It took us to the Southlake Town Square, which is the coolest place.  I am pretty sure this was the highlight of our trip.  It was really neat!

The last day we went back to Grapevine Mall and went to through the Aquarium.  It was really bigger than I was expecting and a lot of fun!
Here is proof that I really did do some work the 4 days I was there.

It was a nice trip but boy was it was brutal going back to work after being off for two weeks!

San Pedro Island

We spent a day on San Pedro Island before we flew home from Belize.  We got up early Thursday morning and headed to Belize City to take a boat taxi to San Pedro.  We caught the boat taxi right as it was about to take off.  It was pretty crowded.
It was lunch time by the time we got to the island.  We ate some really good lunch at Fido's before checking into our hotel.  We stayed at the Mayan Princess, which is in the heart of San Pedro, right on the beach.  Everything was easily accessible which was very nice.
Me and my favorite boys...
This was the view from our balcony
As soon as we checked into our room and put our bags up, Michael and I then walked a couple of blocks to find a pharmacy.  He was in a little bit of pain from the allergic reaction he was having.  So we found some Benadryl that we were hoping would give him some relief.
By the time we got back our golf carts had been delivered so we took off to explore the island.
We drove a couple of miles down the island to the Banana Beach resort where we had stayed a few years earlier.  This is where we booked our snorkeling trip with Lil Alphonse.
We headed back to the hotel get changed into our swim suits for our snorkeling trip out at the coral reef.  We saw all kinds of coral, fish, a couple of giant sea turtles, an eel and way too many sting ray's and sharks!

I didn't have a water camera so the only pictures I could take were from the boat before I got in.

Here is a picture from 2009 where both my kids are holding the sharks!  Yikes!!
And Michael swimming down to touch the sting ray...
After our snorkeling adventure, we went back to the hotel to get cleaned up for dinner.  We ate at El Patio which was pretty tasty!
Friday morning we woke up to a beautiful day!  And it was time to make the journey back home from our week long trip to Belize.
The boat ride back to Belize City was much better than the ride to the island.
What a fun way to finish up an GREAT trip!
