Easter Egg Hunt

This past Sunday Denis and Joyce Frank had everyone out for an Easter Egg Hunt.  This is the third year for them to host it and they do a great job.  Their yard looks like a picture right out of Southern Living magazine.    The egg hunt was moved up a week this year, and it sure will make this coming weekend easier for those of us that will be going out of town for Lads to Leaders.  And it ended up being a beautiful day perfect for an egg hunt!

I made some snacks to take
Easter Egg Sugar Cookies
Bunny Smore's
Easter Egg Cake Balls
Me and my girls :)

Avery was so proud of herself every time she put an egg in her basket

It was a nice surprise to have the Pulley's in town!!  They moved to Michigan several years ago and we sure do miss them!  I couldn't get over her much Nicolas and Chase have grown since last time we saw them.

Joyce was a great hostess, and is one of the sweetest people I know
Denis with Avery.  She gets lots of loving where ever we go.
This picture is out of order, but Avery would clap every time she put an egg in her basket.
Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Prom Dress Shopping

I can't believe my little girl is a junior in high school and will be going to the prom this year!!  Where does the time go??  A few weeks ago, a boy showed up on our front porch with a guitar.  He sang Court a song and asked her to prom.  It was sweet.  And this same boy has given her a couple dozen roses over the last several weeks.   He is certainly trying to win her affection.  And she is playing hard to get.  Anyway....we needed to get busy and find the perfect dress.  The first store we went to was Jessica McClintock.  She saw a dress there she really liked, but she didn't try it on.  She wanted to look around first.  So we went to Nordstrom and Macy's.  But she wasn't crazy about the selection.  She wanted to go back to Jessica McClintock and try on the first dress she liked.  And when she did, it was a done deal.  She looked beautiful!

Dress #2
Dress #3 - the winner!
After finding the perfect dress, we stopped in at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch

And after lunch this little girl did what I wanted to do :)
Courtney found some really cute shoes at Dillard's to go with her dress.  But I didn't get a picture of them.
Dillard's had these cute headbands with little hats and flowers on them.  I thought they were so cute!!  I so wish I would have been invited to the Royal Wedding!
I tried to get her to get this headband.  I thought it would go perfect with her dress!  And the prom theme - Roaring 20's.  I did not succeed in convincing her to get it :(
It was a fun girl day with my mom, Courtney and Avery.  And I am so pleased with Court's dress and can't wait to see her all dressed up with her date.  And...I am helping with the refreshment table, so I get to go to prom too :)

A shower for Baby Emma

Sunday I helped host a baby shower for our friend Britney, who is expecting a baby girl in May.  It has been a while since we have had a baby shower, so it was exciting to be a part of Britney's shower.  The shower was at our friend Melanie Butler's house and was done with a vintage theme.  So simple and cute!

The hostesses:  Mel, me, Britney, Tiffany, Martha and Amy
Britney, her grandmother Daphine, and her mother Melanie.  Just another month and they can take a four generation girl picture :)
 The super cute table
We served cake balls rather than cake or cupcakes, and they were a hit
And cookies for each guest to take home
I found this idea for a diaper rose bouquet on Pinterest so I made baby Emma one for her gift.  It has lotion, baby bath and baby shampoo in the bottom of the vase.
Melanie made this super cute door decoration
Britney opening her gifts.  Sandra made Emma personalized burp cloths.
Britney received so many cute outfits for baby Emma and I can't wait to see her in each of them.  She is going to be one styling little girl!  Congratulations Scott and Britney! I can't wait to meet your new bundle of joy :)

Ladies Night Out

Tuesday night was Ladies Night Out at church.  It was a jewelry exchange where we all took a piece of jewelry, either new or used, and exchanged like we do with our Christmas ornaments.  And guess who was #1?  This girl.  So I got the final pick.  And I was not nice and took a necklace from sweet Venita.  I should feel bad.  But she ended up with some nice jewelry too, so I don't feel too bad.

Me and the best homemaking teacher/friend in the world
Avery slept through the first part of the evening.  She was a tired little girl.
The next few pictures show you just how wild our ladies nights out can get...
Nancy
Becky
Deidre - and what do all these women have in common - they are all school teachers!
Tawana and her daughter read a sweet poem
There was plenty of jewelry stealing going on
Avery and Hailey found some crowns to wear
I am sad that Courtney had to work and missed it, but I am thankful she has a job.  She is the personal trainer (aka...works in the daycare) for babies at Anytime Fitness.

Thank you to all the ladies (Tawana, Venita, Bettye, Leann) for planning a fun evening for us to enjoy!  It was wonderful!
