Dinner at the Jones'

Tonight we went over to my brother and sister-in-laws for supper. It was our monthly get together with an Easter theme. We had lots of good food and lots of fun visiting.

Poppy, Jeffrey, and Rod

My brother, Rodney - he was trying to put the pillow in front of his face

My sister-in-law had everything decorated so nice. She has tons of cute Easter decorations. I really need her to come over and decorate my house!

My mom, little brother and sister-in-law

Won't be long before Rodney takes the cover off of their pool. I am sure Courtney will be spending A LOT of time over there this summer.

Rod and Rodney discussing salt water versus chlorine for the pool. Rodney has used salt water the last two years and says it is so much easier and cheaper to maintain.

Rod checking out the hot tub. He wants to put one on our back porch/deck, if we ever get one built...

I remember when my kids use to make signs like this for their bedroom doors....lol

Bandit didn't know what to think with everyone there
Makynzi, Rodney and Mom
Courtney and Jeffrey
I asked Hudson to smile, which he did....he just couldn't take his eyes off of his game. Ha...
Michael showed up just in time for a group photo
It was a fun night, even though Rod and I had to leave early. Thanks Rodney and Becky for great food and a great time!!

Livestock Shows

The past week has been a busy time for the long awaited Lamar County Livestock show. The judge didn't like Mary Katherine (the pig) as well as the other pigs in Court's class, so she didn't make the sale :( But Courtney didn't seem to mind. She said she wanted to keep Mary Katherine as a pet. But she will probably be having Mary Katherine for dinner in a couple of months.
Courtney and Mary Katherine

The judge checking Mary Katherine out. I honestly think all the pigs look the same. I don't know how he goes about picking one out from another.

The judge talking to Court about Mary Katherine
Last Saturday was the Prairiland livestock show. Here Court is shining up Mary Katherine.

Saturday evening was a brisket supper and auction. We normally go to it every year, but I had ended up working all afternoon and we didn't make it. I made a banana caramel pie and a chocolate cake for the auction. I think the pie only went for $15, but the cake went for $55!
Pig farming is over for another year. Woohoo!

Happy Birthday Hudson Avery Jones!

Yesterday was my youngest nephews 9th birthday. But, the party had to wait until today because yesterday he had to play for the championship title in his hockey league. They came in 2nd, but he scored a goal and got a trophy, so all was good!

He must not have had enough hockey this weekend, because as soon as we all got to the park, he headed straight to the hockey area.

Michael went to the monthly nursing home singing, but stopped by just in time for cake
Whoa - who is that wild woman with that wild hair...lol The wind was blowing like crazy!
Cousins :)

Opening presents

His request was for some WWE Rumblers - which are midget wrestlers. I am sure it was quite comical watching Courtney and I try to pick them out in Wal-Mart. I think Court secretly wanted some for herself - she was way too fascinated with all the different ones

I can't believe Hudson is already 9 years old!! Seems like just yesterday he was a baby and would let me hold him and love on him. He is way too big for that now. Time to have another baby Rodney and Becky!! :)

Buddy Baseball

The Prairiland Beta Club is helping with the Buddy Baseball this year, so when Court signed up, she knew just who she would have for a Buddy - her mini BFF Autumn. If you are not familiar with Buddy baseball, it is for children with disabilities. And each child has a "buddy" that helps them play. Courtney had to take defensive driving last Saturday, so she was unable to go and help Autumn play. Tiffany said Autumn wouldn't let any of the other "buddy's" help her - only her dad. So Autumn was pretty excited that she had Courtney to help her today. And Courtney enjoyed every minute of it!
Autumn was all smiles for the camera

Courtney helping Autumn get ready to take the field Autumn was an awesome outfielder
She fielded a ball that came her way

Up to bat
and she got a single
and then made it to 2nd base
then 3rd base

and ran home

and scored a point

Courtney is showing her pig at the Prairiland Livestock show next Saturday, but hopes to show early so she can go back and help Autumn play again next week.

Tomorrow is the start of our Gospel Meeting, so I would like to invite every one to please come if you can. It will be tomorrow @ 9:30am, 10:30am, and 6pm. And Tuesday - Wednesday at 7pm. Hope to see you there :)
