Presby trip

Last week we took a trip over to Presbyterian in Dallas. It was time for my mom to get a new pacemaker/defibrillator - which replaced the one she had put in four years ago. We had just had the big snow storm, but lucky for us, the roads were clear and we had no problem making it over there. We were to be there at 12:30, but they did start the surgery until 4pm. It was around 5:30 when Dr. Le came out to tell us he had good news - they were able to reposition a "lead" to my mom's heart - rather than having to run a new lead down a different vein - so that meant we got to go home that night! My mom had been having trouble with the lead causing her diaphram to have spasms, and it was very uncomfortable for her. So with him being able to reposition the lead, and then putting the new unit in, she is good for another 7 years :) The process was so much easier and simpler this go around. And she even felt up to stopping to eat on the way home, after all it had been almost 24 hours since she had eaten. So we stopped at Pasado's in McKinney for some good mexican food on our way home.

Mom patiently waiting for the nurses to come in My stepdad was there too
I wasn't very fond of this nurse. She didn't speak good English, but I did understand "no pictures"....mean nurse! My dorky brother texting while reading my "Womans World" magazine.
My mom did really good on the way home. The next couple of days were a little tough for her, but she is doing really great now - thank you for all your prayers!
