All About Avery!

A couple of months ago, we were lucky enough to get to keep Avery.  Avery is the grand daughter of one of my friends from work.  Little did we know that we were going to fall absolutely head over heels in love with this little girl.  And I am not just talking about myself - Rod, Courtney and Michael are all crazy about her too.  She is the sweetest little baby, and we enjoy every minute that we get to keep her.  I thought I would share some pictures over the last 2 months.

She was just 3 months old the first time she came over
She stayed in the class I was teaching the first time she went to church with us.  We were learning about baby Moses, so she was our real live baby :)

 She LOVES the water
 Precious
She enjoys walks in her stroller

Nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby

Her first time in Bible class - she did great!

Granny had to get some love too.  It's been a long time since she has had one this little to love.

Avery will be 5 months old on Sunday.  She is already sitting up, and she is almost crawling!!!  If she can just figure out what to do with her front arms, she will be crawling all over the place.

SYS - Oak Grove

This past Monday night, the Summer Youth Series was held at the Oak Grove church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, TX.  We had a total of 16 attend from Blossom.  The lesson was "Restoring the Erring" and it was a great lesson that needed to be heard!  We were served sandwiches, chips, and cookies afterwards.

Next week we be traveling to Mt. Vernon, TX.

Saturday night with the Phillips kids

Saturday evening, Ben and Tiffany went to clean the church building (to save on costs, different families will sign up to clean the church building each month),  so we got to spend some time with the Phillips kids and play while Ben and Tiffany were cleaning.  Autumn, Aubree and Jack are really sweet kids and we enjoy when they come over.

Avery loves playing with other kids
 Autumn is just too sweet!!
Jaci came over to hang out too

 Hello Kitty toes
Avery loves her walker and loves being outside
Jack found him a riding toy to play on

Aubree thought Michael was a horse.  A very lazy horse.
Rod says he never makes the blog - so here he is working hard.  Love you babe!
Just a typical Saturday night at our house.  We love having a house full!

Happy Birthday Zac!

Zac turned 21 this past Saturday, which is almost unbelievable to me!!  Pam had emailed me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would make some cake balls for Zac's birthday.  And then when I took them out there, she invited me to stay for lunch.  And I was sure glad I did!!  Russell grilled an awesome pork tenderloin and some armadillo eggs.  We had potato salad, beans, cake and home ice cream!!

 Joe - Pam's dad
 Natalie (Zac's girlfriend) and Lindsey
 Kyle and Jackson
Jackson was not too thrilled that it was not his birthday.  But his is coming up next month so I know he is excited about that!!
Russell and little miss Avery.  She is loved wherever she goes :)
Somehow I didn't get any pictures of Pam or Faye.  And I didn't get a picture of the gift Pam and Russell gave Zac.  They had his play-off jersey from high school put in a shadow box.  It was really cool looking and will look great hanging in his office when he is a coach (or athletic director) some day!

Happy Birthday Cody!

A couple of weeks ago, we had another birthday around our house - Cody Lee turned 16!!  Cody was just 6 years old when Rod and I married, and I have had the honor of watching him grow over the last 10 years.  He was such a sweet shy little boy when I met him.  And he hasn't change much there - but he sure has grown a lot! :)  Cody took his drivers ed class late, so he won't get his drivers license until the end of September.  So a couple more months before we have to worry about him being on the road.  I can't believe we have two that are 19 years old and two that are 16 years old.  That is just crazy!
